*DELUXE ENGRAVED GERMAN SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 8×57. Beautiful engraved rifle with 23″ oct. to round bbl, full matted rib, ramp front sight, 2-leaf express sight, cased colored engraved receiver with claw mount bases and dbl. set triggers. The floorplate and trigger guard are also case colored with matching floral and vine engraving with game scenes of stag and raebuck. The 1-pc stock has a black foreend tip, checkered forearm and round pistol grip with cheek piece and brown waffle pad. The bbl is secured with a single wedge through German silver escutcheons. SN 40678. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains 95-97% original blue, the receiver 40-50% case colors, bright in sheltered areas. Trigger guard and floorplate are mostly a dark gray. The nicely figured wood retains most of a recent refinish. Bright shiny bore. 4-46567 JR61 (1,000-1,500)
