*FOX A GRADE 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN OF VERY LATE SAVAGE MANUFACTURE.

SN 303838A. Cal. 16 ga. 28″ bbl. Chokes are MOD/FULL. Chambers are 2-3/4″. Matted top rib with steal front bead. Tops of bbls marked “SPECIAL ALLOY – FORGED STEEL” on right, “SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION, UTICA, NY. USA / PROOF TESTED – 16 GAUGE – 2-3/4 INCH CHAMBER”. Dbl triggers, extractor, auto safety. Rnd knob pistol grip buttstock checkered in 3-point pattern with 14-3/8″ LOP over lined HRBP. Splinter forearm checkered in 2-point pattern with engraved Deeley release. Action is engraved in typical Savage A grade pattern with shaded floral scroll on sides and bottom. Trigger guard with diamond and shaded arrow pattern and SN at tang. Triggers are nickel plated. Housed in an early Leg-O-Mutton case with green felt liner. All visible SNs match. WEIGHT: 6lbs. 6oz. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Gun retains 95+% of its late style factory finishes. Buttstock is sound with minor handling marks and very minor grain separation at top left of frame and minor chipping on bottom of frame near action. Action with approx 80% fading Savage cyanide case hardened finish remaining. Trigger guard retains nearly all of it late factory finish. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are fine. Case is good with scrapes and losses, handle is half torn, interior of case is good. This is a fine example of how the late SAVAGE Fox A Grade guns appear. 53203-2 JSL (3,000-5,000) C&R – Lot 3200
