FIRST YEAR ANTIQUE WINCHESTER 1892 RIFLE.SN 21107. Cal. 38-40. 24″ rnd bbl. Blue finish overall with 2-pc traditional walnut rifle stocks with crescent butt. Mounted with Lyman blade front sight and Lyman folding staff tang sight. Rear sight seat has been filled with a contemporary slot blank. These early first year guns are difficult to find in good condition. This is a far better example than average. Documented by SN as having been made in 1892. CONDITION: Very good overall with approximately 60% factory finish remaining, balance turning plum with some finish loss at high points of receiver and at muzzle. 60-70% case colors remain on hammer & lever with crescent butt having turned mostly silver. Two piece Winchester stocks have what appears to be a contemporary finish applied, however stocks are still proud with little evidence of sanding. Action is extremely smooth and functioning properly. Bore is good with several small areas of corrosion evident in the lands. 53195-1 TDW (2,500-3,500) – Lot 2420
