*SCARCE SPRINGFIELD 1903 HEAVY BARREL TARGET MODEL.

SN 1314372. Cal. .30.06. 30″ bbl. Highly desirable Springfield 1903 heavy barreled target model with nickel steel bolt slightly swept back. Lyman receiver peep sight disc present. Scope blocks present on receiver and bbl. No front sight nor base present. No buttplate present. Follower without provision to hold bolts open, stock never inletted for magazine cutoff switch. Stock beautifully checkered. Length from trigger to the end of stock is 12 13/16″. These heavy barreled Springfields are highly sought and this one, with the addition of a couple missing parts would make a very handsome addition to a Springfield rifle collection. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is fine to very fine. Orig blue finish w/ bolt in the white w/ finish starting to fade and thin, particularly on the floor plate and high edges. Mechanics are crisp, bore is very fine, shiny and bright. Stock has a 2″ crack running parallel to the bore line on right side near toe w/ a blemish on the left side of the stock with a corresponding ding to the checkering.
