COLLECTOR’S LOT OF 3 CIVIL WAR ERA EDGED WEAPONS.1) Emerson & Silver, Trenton, New Jersey made Model 1850 Staff Officer’s sword with a wonderful eagle head quillon w/ jeweled eyes, etched 32″ blade with patriotic motifs. Engraved scabbard mounts. 2) Civil War US surcharged brass handled saber bayonet, probably for Mississippi Rifle. 3) Iron hilted pattern 1853 British cavalry saber with pressed leather checkered grip slabs. CONDITION: 1) Good to very good overall. Brass has been polished bright, missing drag, otherwise scabbard body solid, though scuffed. Sharkskin grip has sprung twisted wire wrap. 2) Good overall. Brass polished bright, small inspector’s initials “SP” found on hilt. 21″ blade has old sharpening,cleaning and pitting. US surcharge is clear. 3) Very good over all, 35″ blade is grey with staining and light pitting, iron patina to guard and complete grip slabs. 53129-1 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 3085
