SN 13789. Cal. 45 LC. 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case color finish, 1-pc American walnut grip. Top of bbl shows 1-line Colt address, bottom of bbl is stamped “P” two times; one stamp is small, other large. Bbl is of early type without a screw bolster and a hole for locating stud. Bbl is not numbered. Ejector housing has no locating stud with an exit cut for the ejector rod. Frame shows SN stamped on bottom. SN appears on trigger guard and backstrap. Trigger guard number is “132568” followed by inspector mark “K”. Backstrap is SN “91907” followed by inspector mark “G”. Left side of frame shows 2-line Colt patent mark followed by “U.S.”. Periphery of cyl is stamped “17” and “P”. Rear of cyl shows inspector marks “L” and “K”. Grip has an acceptance cartouche stamped on right side with date “1903” over initials “RAC” for Rinaldo A. Carr. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 60% of bright blue finish. Front sight is full sized, markings sharp and clear, bore is frosty with visible rifling. Frame shows a mottled grey/brown finish overall with some hints of silvered out case color. Loading gate fits. Frame markings are clear. Screws show considerable blue finish. Trigger guard is mostly a deep blue/brown patina with some bright blue toward forward edge. Backstrap is a deep blue brown patina with some traces of blue on apron. Cyl retains 50% blue finish with erosion on face and a slight drag mark. Mechanics are crisp. Grip is intact with a light varnish finish overall. Inspector cartouche is clear.
