EXCEEDINGLY RARE PARKER GRADE ONE 14 GAUGE HAMMER GUN SHOTGUN RESTORED BY TURNBULL.

SN 57908. Cal. 14 ga. #1 frame. 28″ laminated Damascus pattern bbls with matted top rib and steel front bead. 2-5/8″ chamber. Fishtail top lever. Double trigger, extractor, no safety. Capped pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with silver shield behind top lever and 14-1/8″ LOP over Parker Bros. DHBP. Splinter forearm with Deeley release and steel tip. Receiver is very lightly scroll engraved and marked Parker Bros. on sides. All visible SNs match. Bore diameter: left – .699, right – .699. Bore restrictions: left – .018 (mod), right – .015 (mod). Wall thickness: left – .022, right – .026. Drop at heel: 3-5/16″, drop at comb: 2″. Weight: 7 lbs 0 oz. PROVENANCE: Daryl Middlebrook Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine as expertly restored by Turnbull. Bbls retain virtually all of their restored black and white contrast finish as does receiver and trigger guard. Buttstock and forearm with only minor handling marks retain nearly all of their professionally restored finish. Bores are pitted throughout. Mechanics are crisp. According to the Parker story this is only one of four 14 gauge top action hammer guns with 28″ bbls. Parker collectors almost never have an opportunity to obtain an orig 14 gauge for their collection and this gun should not be overlooked. 53098-22 JSL (3,000-5,000) – Lot 3201
