*SCARCE LITTLE 20 GAUGE PARKER “CHE” SHOTGUN WITH TITANIC BARRELS.

SN 117586. (ca 1903) Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 0 Frame. 28″ Bbls are marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CONN. TITANIC STEEL” on matted game rib with two ivory beads. Bbl flats and lumps are stamped with all correct markings. Action has all correct patent and grade markings on water table, and features automatic safety and nickel-plated dbl triggers. Action is engraved in “C” style with near full coverage scroll within geometric borders surrounding single dogs on sides. “PARKER BROS” is behind dog scenes. Trigger plate has vignette of a running stag. Well marbled European walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over open sided Hawkins pad. Stock is finished in “C” fashion with side panels, drop points, and fancy pattern checkering at grip. Large gold oval on toe line is engraved with monogram “HW”. Matching splinter ejector forend has typical release and patent date on iron. Bore diameter: left -.620, right – .620. Bore restrictions: left – .006 (IC), right – .018 (mos). Wall thickness: left – .030, right – .029. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-9/16″. Cast: neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 3 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. Gun not listed in PARKER GUN SERIALIZATION AND IDENTIFICATION ledger. PROVENANCE: Daryl Middlebrook collection. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain 20 – 30% of what appears to be orig blue, very much thinned. Action is cleaned to silver gray with some dark areas. Stock retains most of what appears to be its orig finish with oil rubbed in over many marks and dents. Checkering worn. It appears this is Mr. Middlebrook’s favorite hunting gun, as it has great dimensions and bores are still dirty, but appear to be very fine, and possibly excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Floorplate screws are a bit buggered. All other screws show light use.
