SN 56250. Cal. .30-40. 22″ bbl. Standard markings sharp and clear. 1896 dated cartouche on left side of stock. Clear circle P proof behind trigger guard. Proper 1896 style stock with dished out area for bolt handle. Saddle ring mounted on left side of stock. Proper front sight. Rear sight is not C marked. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine with much of the proper finish on metal parts, receiver finish is mostly worn. No cartridge marks on bolt face. Bbl appears to have a preservative coating over finish. All markings clear. Metal sharp. Wood is crisp with sharp cartouche. Minor repair and filling at butt plate tang. Bore is greasy with sharp rifling.
