SN 23678. Cal. 38. 3-1/2″ bbl. Blue finish, bbl, backstrap and trigger guard with case color frame in niter blue appointments including screws, traverse takedown latch with an etched panel caliber designation on left side of bbl, nickel silver blade front sight and 2-line Hartford address on top of bbl. Rare one piece checkered walnut factory grips. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine with vivid high color case colors most all blue finish remaining on bbl, backstrap and trigger guard. Manufactured without ejector rod. Often referred to the “storekeepers model” these guns were one of the most popular pocket guns of the day. Wonderful one piece walnut checkered grips retain virtually all their finish with only a touch of wear at high points.
