*WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 OCTAGON BARREL HALF-MAGAZINE RIFLE.SN 276707. Cal. 38 WCF. 24″ oct bbl, half magazine, full blue finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address and patent mark rolled in front of rear sight with Cal. designation to the rear. Standard sporting front sight; buckhorn rear sight. SN is stamped on forward bottom of receiver. Upper tang is marked “MODEL 1892 / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK”. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 95% orig blue with some slight wear at muzzle and some high-point wear. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 95% orig blue with some high-point wear and light scratching on left side. Screws are not molested. Hammer and lever both show a generous amount of case color finish. Markings are sharp. Stocks are fine, full sized and retain most of the varnish finish with only a few handling marks. Buttplate retains a generous amount of muted case color finish. Forend cap retains 95% orig blue with some wear on left side. Mechanics are crisp.
