REMINGTON-ELLIOT DERINGER IN AN ORIGINAL BOX.SN 8364. Cal. 22. 3″ bbl. Gold and silver finish, 2-pc rosewood grips. Bbl cluster shows Remington address and Elliot patent marks rolled behind front sight. SN is stamped on bottom of bbl cluster. Accompanying box has label inside lid giving directions for loading and cleaning pistol. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl cluster retains a generous amount of gold wash finish that is tarnished considerably, but is bright in protected areas. Markings are sharp and clear. Frame retains most of the orig silver plate finish which has drifted to a dark blue/black patina. There is slight roughness along the upper backstrap on left side. Grips are about fine with a few minor dents and no losses. Varnish has some high-point wear. Box is very good. One end panel is missing from lower part. Label is clean and totally legible with a few minor abrasions and stains. A very nice example of a Remington “Pepperbox” Deringer in a finish that is seldom seen on this model. 53094-45 TEP (2,500-3,125) – Lot 2316
