COLT 1ST MODEL NEW LINE REVOLVER WITH PEARL GRIPS AND PERIOD BOX.

SN 7387. Cal. 22 RF. 2-1/4″ bbl, full nickel finish, 2-pc Mother-of-pearl grips. Bbl shows 2-line Colt address bordered by crosses on each end. Left side of frame under cyl is marked “22 CAL”. SN appears on butt of grip. Paste board box is of the correct type with Rampant Colt top label for a “COLT’S NEW 7 SHOT REVOLVER”. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very good. Revolver retains 80% plus of orig nickel finish has thinned out on the front strap slightly behind trigger guard. There is some erosion on left side of frame, partially obliterating Cal. mark which is still legible. Hammer shows fire blue on front and back. Cyl retains 90% nickel that has flaked in certain places. Mechanics need attention. Cyl does not rotate. Pearl grips are fine and intact. Grip screw shows considerable fire blue. Accompanying box is very good. Top label is intact. Some slight losses to bottom with crazing overall. A nice example of a 1st Model Colt New Line 22 revolver in an orig Colt box. 53094-27 TEP (1,000-1,250) – Lot 2251
