*EXTRAORDINARY WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 DELUXE SADDLE RING CARBINE.SN 854120. Cal 30 WCF. 20″ rnd bbl, full magazine, blue finish. Nicely figured checkered American walnut stocks with steel shotgun buttplate. Saddle ring is attached. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address and patent mark rolled on left side behind rear bbl band. “NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” followed by Cal. mark is rolled on left breech beside rear sight. “WP” proof is struck on bbl breech and on top of receiver ring. SN is stamped on forward lower part of frame. Upper tang is marked “MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN”. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine show 98% of orig blue finish. Bbl bands show some high-point where on both sides. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver also retains 99% orig bright blue finish. Markings are sharp, screws are unmolested. Hammer and lever retain nearly all blue finish. Mechanics are crisp. Stocks are fine and retain nearly all of their piano varnish finish with some crazing on left side of butt and a few handling marks overall. Stocks are full sized. Buttplate also retains most of dull blue finish. A rarely seen deluxe Winchester Model 1894 saddle ring carbine in a condition that is hard to improve upon. 53094-118 TEP (7,500-9,000) C&R – Lot 2201
