*UNIQUE SPRINGFIELD 1903 MARK I CUTAWAY .30-06 RIFLE WITH CUTAWAY BAYONET.SN 1157xx5. Cal. .30-06. 24″ bbl. Standard markings. Factory cutout on left side of receiver for use with Pederson device. 7-15 dated bbl. 2 bolt finger groove stock. No cartouche on stock, “53” stamped behind trigger guard. Gun has been cut away on both sides, top and bottom. Accompanied by Springfield 1906 dated bayonet. Pommel, left grip, cross guard have been sectioned as well. Wood grips. Bright blade. Non-matching SN on right side of blade. Leather covered “R.I.A./ 1910/ H.E.K.” marked scabbard. Scabbard has not been sectioned or modified. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Good with some blued finish remaining. All markings are clear. Wood is very good with dings and handling marks. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Mechanics are fine. Blade of bayonet has light areas of surface staining from rust. Markings are clear. Wood grips are fine. Finish worn off cross guard, mostly present on pommel. Latching mechanism in good working order. Scabbard is fine with light scuff and handling marks.
