MAGNIFICENT WINCHESTER 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE.

SN 944416. Cal. 44-40. 16″ rnd bbl with carbine rear sight. All blue receiver, breech bolt and lever that are of the dark blue late production type. This type of blue invariably drifts and to find such a sparkling bright blued carbine of this vintage is a herculean task. Late 1920s or early 1930s bbl address. Full length magazine. Receiver is fixed with stud and ring in place. Standard walnut carbine stock and forend w/carbine butt. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl band forward and rear retain 97% condition. Small area of loss to blue on bottom of receiver. Walnut stock and forearm are near mint. Light compression marks on left side and a few light compression marks on right side. Bbl bands are as new and in place, and have not been removed to indicate disassembly. Wood to metal fit is excellent, and shows no loss of wood or cracks in wood. Buttplate is 98% blue and fits to stock perfectly. Lever is 98% blue. Mechanics are excellent. Bright shiny bore. As excellent an example of a late Model 1892 saddle ring carbine as exists. 53091-89 MS (15,000-20,000) – Lot 2063
