ELABORATE KEYSTON PARADE SADDLE PURPORTED TO BE OWNED BY JOHN WAYNE.Mr. Bentley’s inventory note this particular saddle was property of John Wayne, though no supporting documentation was found and saddle is not marked other than typical maker’s marks as seen in photographs. Regardless, this is a beautiful and exemplary example of among the highest grade Keyston saddles of this era. Tooled brown leather with over 125 silver conchos and insets. Gold horse heads are also inset on some silver decorations which are often seen on the best Keyston products. Keyston Brothers are the best known of all San Francisco saddle makers of the early-mid 20th century. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collection of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall.
