WONDERFUL PAIR OF BALL, BLACK & COMPANY, NEW YORK MADE NAVAL EWERS, CIRCA 1860.This matching pair of ewers are 16-1/2″ each overall, weighing a combined total of 120 troy ounces. The ewers are made almost identically with rope handles, fluted anchors attached to base with loose chain wrapping around loops around neck. Both decorated with coral and seashell bases and bodies with oak leaf and acorn on stippled backgrounds with two large 4-1/2″ round engraved vignettes of four different naval scenes and central front vignettes with blank presentations. Ewers are in fine condition with matching patina and display beautifully facing each other. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine overall. Both ewers have minor small dents with excellent repousse and engraved panels of steam and sailing ships, two flying American flags. 53091-232 JS (6,000-8,000) – Lot 2146
