*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 65 DELUXE RIFLE WITH BOLT PEEP SIGHT.

SN 1005611. Cal. 218 BEE. 24″ rnd bbl, half magazine, full blue finish. Nicely figured American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forearm. Pistol grip is capped. Checkered steel shotgun buttplate. Bbl shows Winchester Model and Cal. designation marked at the left breech with the Winchester address on the right. Front sight is hooded and mounted on a ramp. Rear sight mortise has been plugged with no evidence of a rear sight having been mounted. “WP” proofs are struck on bbl breech and receiver ring. SN is stamped on froward bottom of receiver. Upper tang is marked “WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK”/ MADE IN USA”. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 95% orig blue finish that has drifted to a plum patina toward the muzzle. Markings are sharp. Front sight is very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver also retains 95% orig blue with only a few handling marks and no carry wear. Hammer and lever both retain most of the blue finish. Loading gate also retains most of the fire blue. Stocks are fine, full sized, retaining most of the orig varnish finish and only minuscule handling marks. Buttplate retains most of the blue finish, as does the forend cap. Mechanics are crisp.
