COLONIAL ERA DOG LOCK FLINT FOWLER.NSN. Cal. 75. 71″ overall with 55″ commercially British proofed bbl. Gun is possibly new World stocked with 3-sheet brass bbl bands and wooden ramrod. Lock is marked “REMISTER” and was made without a trigger guard. Gun appears “as found” with dark patinas. Similar parts are known excavated from 17th century colonial sites. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Bbl proofs are discernible as is lock maker, no other external markings. Gun appears orig and “as found” with iron patina which is dark with pitting. Brass bands have dark olive patina. Stock is sound with hand worn patina. There is a chip to rear of the lockplate and the rear lockplate screw is non-functional and has been replaced.
