◊*WWII P-38 COLLECTOR’S LOT.

1) SPREEWERKE P38. SN B3790. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Standard markings. Eagle 88 inspected. Matching SN’s on slide, frame and bbl. Black Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 inspected mag. Accompanied by black leather flap holster, marking hard to read. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refurbished. Light handling marks. Grips are fine. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. All markings clear. Fine mechanical function. Holster has scuff marks and wear, strong stitching. C&R IMPORT 2) MAUSER P38. NSN. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Aside from model designation and mfg/date code on side of slide, there do not appear to be any other markings. Three small unidentified proofs on the left bbl lug. “143/L” stamped in rear of frame under hammer. No other markings on gun. Unmarked locking block. High polished blued finish on slide, bbl and frame. Metal grips. No French markings. “P.38v” marked mag without proofs. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Good plus with finish wear. Markings are clear. Light to moderate pitting on front and rear lugs of bbl. Grips have small dings and handling marks. Right grip appears to be worn phosphate. Left grip is blued. Bore is excellent, bright with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. C&R; IMPORT3) SVW P38. SN 9852G. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. This is a true “gray ghost” model pistol with only the SN and the French star on right side of slide. There is no mfg code, model designation or date. Matching numbers on slide, frame, bbl and locking block. Bbl is WaA135, inspected on left side, French star also present at rear bbl. Metal grips. WWII production jvd marked mag. Matching Interarms cardboard box. This gun is pictured on pg 42, explained on pgs 40-41 of The P38 Pistol Vol II by Warren Buxton. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine with a fair amount of worn late phosphate finish. All markings clear. Grips have light dings and handling marks. Bore has minor pitting with strong rifling. Mechanics are fine.
