*THE VERY FIRST PRODUCTION MERKEL MODEL 200 SC 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH CASE.SN SC1001. Cal. 12 ga. 30″ “Spezial Laufstahl” steel bbls with wide matted ventilated rib and brass front bead. 3″ chambers. Chokes MOD/MOD. Single selective trigger, auto ejectors, non-auto safety. Mounted with a fine swirl grain capped pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with 14-1/4″ LOP over black Decelerator pad. Forearm with case hardened Deeley release checkered in 4-point pattern. Case hardened receiver engraved with the Suhl Mountain Man surrounded by very light scroll. Cocking indicators on side. Single trigger is also case hardened. Housed in a green canvas leather mounted case with Merkel trade label and green felt liner. All visible SN match. WEIGHT: 7 lbs 2 oz. PROVENANCE: Bill Trotter collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retaining nearly all orig finish to both wood and metal. Has been fired but very well taken care of. A most interesting gun with great SN provenance that is virtually indestructible. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is bright and shiny.
