*EXTREMELY FINE AND EXCEEDINGLY RARE HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION PARKER VHE 28 GAUGE SKEET SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.

SN 239876. Cal. 28 ga. 26″ Vulcan steel bbls with full length matted top rib and twin ivory beads. 2-7/8″ chambers. Parker single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, non-auto safety. 00 frame. Bbl flats marked with Parker overload proofs, “skeet in/skeet out” and un-struck bbl weight of 2 lbs 14 ozs. Straight grip buttstock checkered in 2-pt pattern with 14″ LOP over original checkered butt and has nickel oval near toe engraved with original owner’s initials “GWP” for George W. Pierce. Original beaver tail forearm checkered in 3-pt pattern with Deeley release. Action is zig-zag border engraved and marked “Parker” on bottom. All visible SNs match. Bore diameter: left – .552, right – .550. Bore restrictions: left – .007, right – .004. Wall thickness: left – .021, right – .027. Drop at heel: 1-1/2″, drop at comb: 2-3/16″. Weight: 6 lbs 2 ozs. Accompanied by Parker Brothers letter confirming this gun as found and original purchaser information. CONDITION: Very fine plus. All original in every respect, this rare gun has more than 95% original bbl blue with minor toning and a fingernail sized spot of loss approx. 9″ back from muzzle on right tube on top. Action retains approx. 90% darkened original case color. Buttstock and forearm are very fine, all original, and untouched with minor handling marks. There are 3 or 4 minor chips in the finish towards toe which do not in any way detract from the gun. Checkering is quite crisp. Forend latch has toned to silver. There is evidence of original strike marks at breech end of bbls and original high polish blue on ejector stop. Mechanics are crisp. Bores are bright and shiny. This is an extremely rare untouched, high original condition skeet gun which would be very different to improve upon.
