*EXCEPTIONAL PARKER DHE 20 GAUGE WITH FACTORY LETTER.

SN 238858. Cal. 20 ga. 28″ Titanic steel bbls with ivory mid and white plastic front bead. No. 0 frame. 2-5/8″ chambers. Bbl flats stamped with overload proof marking and marked with “R K” (Remington repair code Nov. 1941). Unstruck bbl weight of 3 lbs. 2 oz. Parker single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Flame grained American walnut buttstock is checkered in 3 point pattern with tear drops behind action and has 14-1/4″ LOP over engraved skeleton steel buttplate. Buttstock with what appears to be factory orig sling swivel eye hole mounted near toe and nickel oval. Elongated beavertail forearm is checkered in standard DHE pattern with engraved Deeley release and has proper reinforcing screw. Bottom rib with proper reinforced forend lug and what appear to be factory orig sling eye mount. Action is beautifully engraved in typical late DHE pattern with setter in rolling hills scene on right, pointer in field scene on left surrounded by late Parker open scroll engraving. Trigger plate with 4 ducks that are extremely well detailed in scroll bordered panel. Bottom of action engraved “PARKER” surrounded by scroll bursts. All visible SN’s match. Accompanied by a Parker Gun Collectors Assoc. factory letter. Describing this gun as found with the exception of the buttstock which is listed as capped pistol grip. 6 lbs. 13 oz. Bore diameter: left – .616, right –.616. Bore restrictions: left –.025 right –.005 . Wall thickness: left –.030, right –.026 . Drop at heel: 2-15/16″, drop at rear of Monte Carlo: 2-1/4″ drop at comb: 1-1/2″. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain approximately 98% orig blued finish with a couple of minor light handling marks. Orig strike marks present on breech end of bbls as well as some orig blue on ejector stop. Buttstock is superb as near certainly updated by Remington in 1941 from its capped pistol grip configuration to current straight stock, retains nearly all of its orig finish with some finish added for preservation. Skeleton steel buttplate retains approximately 80% of its factory orig blued finish particularly strong near toe, toning at heel. Action retains virtually all of its factory orig case color with light high point edge wear. Engraving is extremely sharp and detailed. Beavertail forearm retains nearly all of a professionally restored finish with an ancient grain separation near forend knuckle. Checkering is quite crisp. Trigger guard retains more than half of its orig blue with blue loss at grip, quite strong on bow and back of tang. Buttstock & forearm checkering does not have a mullered border which is exactly what we would expect to find on a factory original 1941 Remington stock. This gun with the options noted above is an exceedingly rare, high orig condition Parker worthy of consideration by even the most discerning collector.
