*OUTSTANDING EARLY SMITH & WESSON 1917 U.S. MILITARY .45 REVOLVER WITH FACTORY LETTER.

SN 328. Cal. 45. 5-1/2″ bbl. Standard markings. “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” marked under bbl. Proper military inspectors mark on left side of frame. Matching numbers on frame and butt, matching assembly numbers on crane and frame. Matching SN properly written on inside of right grip. Accompanied by a Smith & Wesson factory letter stating this gun was shipped on November 6, 1917 to the Springfield Armory. CONDITION: Extremely fine with normal drag line around cylinder. Vivid case colors on hammer and trigger. Markings are all crisp and clear. Grips are excellent. Bore is excellent with sharp rifling. Mechanics are crisp. 52882-4 GER (2,000-3,000) C&R – Lot 3041
