*BROWNING “TROMBONE” RIFLE ENGRAVED BY ANGELO BEE.

SN 31276. Cal. 22 LR. 22″ Bbl. Metal parts of this fine little rifle have been coin finished and completely engraved from stem to stern by master Angelo Bee with near full coverage large open scrolling acanthus with punch dot shading running the entire length of the bbl and on nearly all of action where it surrounds multi-colored relief gold inlays of birds of prey and their quarry. The multi-color inlay is very interesting in that colors merge from yellow through red, and red through silver on the eagles. Left side of action portrays bald eagle in pursuit of a pair of flushing grouse with mountains in background, while a golden eagle attempts to grab a scampering rabbit on right. Top of action depicts a red gold quail perched on a silver branch. FN information on bbl and SN on bottom of action are in flush gold. Angelo Bee’s signature of a bee over “ABEE” is at bottom of scene on top. Exhibition quality beautifully marbled and figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4″ over blued steel scroll engraved buttplate. Drop at heel: approx 2-3/4″, drop at comb: approx 1-9/16″. Weight: 5 lbs. 1 oz. LOP: 13-3/4″. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially unused since custom finishing, with a couple of light marks mostly in buttstock. Mechanically excellent. 52870-1 MGM (7,000-10,000) C&R – Lot 1277
