VERY FINE AMERICAN EAGLE POMMEL HORSEMAN SABER, CIRCA 1830.

Well preserved horseman’s saber with 30-1/2″ blue and gold blade with large Federal eagle. Stirrup hilt has two raised relief eagle languettes. Gilded brass scabbard mounts have unusual oval pierced decoration. CONDITION: Fine overall. Scabbard body is sound and solid with craquelure. Scabbard mounts and hilt retain about 70% orig gold plate. Blade retains most of its orig luster and 95% plus bright blue and gold decoration. 52865-47 JS (1,500-2,500) – Lot 3086
