HIGH GRADE AND FINE AMERICAN EAGLE POMMEL HORSEMAN’S SABER WITH IVORY GRIP.Beautiful, heavily gilded eagle pommel with knuckle bow shaped by two intertwined snakes, acorn and oak leaf raised relief languettes and eagle head quillon. 34″ blade is decorated with 3-color 23″ etched panels with patriotic motifs including: an Indian and Federal style eagle with “E Pluribus Unum”. Leather scabbard has large engraved and stippled mounts with large eagle engraved on central mount. CONDITION: Very good overall. Blade retains much of its orig luster, blue and gold decoration with areas of staining and scattered pitting, especially near tip. Leather scabbard body is sound. Hilt and brass mounts retain 70%+ gold plate. Carved ivory grip has several hairlines and large chip at top under eagle head.
