RARE EARLY AMERICAN WIDMANN EAGLE HEAD OFFICER’S SWORD.

Unusual early circa 1825 solid brass integral guard grip and pommel with 30-1/2″ horseman blade, solid brass scabbard engraved with two large eagles and stars. Scabbard is marked on verso in raised cartouche “F. W. WIDMANN / PHILADA”. This pattern is often associated with marine officers. CONDITION: Very good overall. Brass has been cleaned with medium mustard patina. Blade is bright/grey overall with staining and pitting. 52865-36 JS (3,000-5,000) – Lot 3077
