DAUM CAMEO AND ENAMELED ORGANIC FORM VASE.

Daum vase with quatrefoil base leading to a free-form organic mouth is decorated with cameo leaves, stems, and flowers. The cameo leaves and stems are enameled in shades of green while the flowers are enameled in shades of red. The vase is further decorated with a cameo and enameled bumble bee flying towards a flower. The vase is done in a paperweight technique with clear glass overlaid on the colored glass background. The clear glass is etched at the bottom depicting grasses giving the base a wonderful depth, and is finished with a gilded bottom rim. Signed on the underside with etched “Daum Nancy” with Cross of Lorraine and wheel-carved “2857” on back side of vase body. SIZE: 10″ t. PROVENANCE: From an Unreserved Connecticut collection.
