Cover inscribed “Nancy Manship’s Scrapbook”, first page signed upper right “P H Manship”
Ten sketches including 4 head studies of men, a study of feet, a sketch of a sculpture of a female torso, a skeleton and 3 male full-length studies
Reference: In the book “Drawings by Paul Manship” published by the Minnesota Museum of Art 1987 they state on page 9 “Especially rare are juvenilia works. An exception is an appealing set of drawings still in the possession of the Manship family depicting solitary figures executed during the sculptor’s youth.” Accompanying this lot is a scan of page 9 and the cover. SIZE: 11″ x 9″ CONDITION: Front cover has black tape and is detached, composition book has several empty pages, several pages removed from center of book, first page has 1/4″ tear upper left 52741-2 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 1026
