Late 18th, early 19th century New England. This pine and maple example with vibrant original red, green, ochre and oyster white paint-decorated primarily utilizing a “turkey tail” motif. The rectangular single board top with hinged conforming leaves pegged to and projecting above the maple apron. Raised on boldly turned vase, ring and reel-turned maple legs terminating in ball feet. SIZE: 28″ h x 18-1/2″ width closed x 41″ width opened x 41″ l. CONDITION: All elements original and intact with no restoration or damage. Old small chip loss at corner of top at ruled edge. Early chip loss inner foot of one leg with minor paint abrasions. Very fine original condition. 52738-1 (10,000-20,000) – Lot 2241
