RARE AND FINE EARLY CIVIL WAR NAVY INSPECTED SAVAGE NAVY REVOLVER.

SN 1885. Cal. 44. Standard configuration of the popular Savage “Figure 8″ revolver, 14-3/4″ overall, 7-1/8” oct bbl, unique double action mechanism with 3-line address on top frame strap. This example retains much of its orig finish small anchor stamped on bbl flat and “P / J.R.G.” (Capt. John R. Goldsborough, USN). Navy inspected Savages are quite scarce especially in fine “as found” condition. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall. Gun retains 10-20% orig blue and case colors with balance matching plum/gray.
