1) COLT OFFICERS MDL. SN 623055. Cal,38 with 6 inch Bbl, Blue finish overall with factory target adjustable sights front and rear. Two piece Colt walnut checkered grips with Fray-Mershon synthetic grip adapter. Single and double action operation. Bbl marked “OFFICERS MODEL 38 HEAVY BARREL”. Manufactured 1938 by serial number search. PROVENANCE: Property of Joseph Prather, former long time President of Griffin and Howe. CONDITION: Very good overall with bright bore and crisp mechanics. All visible numbers matching, grips have no numbers visible.Slight finish loss at muzzle and discoloration of blue finish above grips, light staining on sides of hammer.Fray-Mershon grips adapter is held in place by compression of grips to frame with no modification to either grips or revolver.These where the quint essential target guns of the day C&R 2) COLT OFFICERS MDL. SN 18161. cal.22 6 inch barrel with factory blue finish overall . Single and double action operation. Adjustable front and rear target sights. Barrel marked “COLT OFFICERS MODEL .22 LONG RIFLE”. Two piece factory colt checkered walnut grips with Fray-Mershon grip adapter. Manufactured 1938 by serial number search. PROVENANCE: Property of Joseph Prather, former long time President of Griffin and Howe. CONDITION: Very good overall with bright bore with sharp rifling and functioning mechanics. Slight blue finish loss at muzzle and a small area of finish staining/loss found above grips on frame. Hammer has a slight amount of staining. Grips are very fine with no modification for use with grip adapter. All visible number matching. brace of guns are cased in a Doskacil/ gunguard pistol travel case.
