*16 GAUGE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 WITH 21-1 ENGRAVING WITH CASE AND FACTORY LETTER.

SN 7225. Cal. 16 ga. 26″ Bbls with narrow matted rib are marked for Skeet 1 and Skeet 2. Blued action with blued single selective trigger is engraved with sprays of scroll in “21-1″ style. Crotch figured American walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over composition Winchester buttplate. Unbraced beavertail ejector forend matches well. Bore diameter: left -.669, right – .668. Bore restrictions: left – .011 (Lt mod), right – .003 (skeet). Wall thickness: left – .030, right – .028. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. LOP: 14-1/8”. Brown leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in burgundy cloth, has Winchester label, and contains cleaning equipment and snap caps. PROVENANCE: Factory letter with specifications stating it had “tournament grade” wood with no mention of engraving, with repair order January 1941 for extra bbls (which are not currently present). CONDITION: Fine, as refinished. Bbls retain over 90% of an old re-blue. Action retains about 80 – 90% re-blue, at time of engraving, flaked on trigger plate, silvered on high edges. Top lever considerably flaked. Stocks retain approx 90% what appears to be orig finish, worn through from normal hand wear at grip and on high edges. Checkering lightly worn. Bores are excellent.
