*FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 SKEET SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.SN 19665. Cal. 12 ga. 26″ Bbls marked for skeet and skeet. Blued action with non-automatic safety and single blued trigger is marked “SKEET” on trigger plate. Lightly crotch figured American walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14″ over checkered wood butt. An aftermarket metal grip cap has been installed. Unbraced beavertail ejector forend matches well and is stamped with matching numbers. Bore diameter: left -.731, right – .733. Bore restrictions: left – .014 (lt mod), right – .008 (skeet). Wall thickness: left – .032, right – .033. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz. LOP: 14″. PROVENANCE: Cody Firearms Records Office letter with orig specifications indicating that gun was made in 1948. CONDITION: Excellent, mostly original. Bbls have only a few light marks, high edge wear, and a touch of flaking on trigger plate of action. Sides of forend iron silvered a bit. Stocks perhaps brightened some with oil added to orig varnish, with some light scratches and dings. Pressed steel grip cap added, along with a 1/4″ ebony block in front of forend iron.
