BRITISH BROWN BESS 2ND MODEL FLINTLOCK.Cal. .80 Smooth. 57″ overall. 41-1/8″ rnd bbl. Stock is pin fastened to the bbl. Furniture is consistent with Brown Bess guns, and gun is in poor condition. 7″ flint lock is marked “Tower” to the rear of the hammer with English crown markings forward of the hammer. CONDITION: Lock is a poor fit and may well be a replacement. 9″ of the butt end of the stock from the toe to comb at the wrist has been replaced which is held in place by two screws at the rear of the trigger guard. Stock also has some wood slivers missing on right hand forend. 52594-54 RGG (800-1,200) – Lot 3348
