REVOLUTIONARY WAR ERA LION POMMEL AMERICAN LIGHT HORSE CAVALRY SABER.

This is an interesting American Light Horse Cavalry saber using an earlier Queen Anne proofed British 35-1/2″ sgl-fullered blade. Similar examples of this brass hilted slotted guard saber are found in most of the Revolutionary War sword references, though this pattern was used into the Federal period. CONDITION: Very good overall. Blade is grey with scattered staining and pitting. Brass hilt shows old cleaning with mostly a medium mustard patina. Accompanying scabbard is a modern reproduction. 52594-53 JS (2,000-3,000) – Lot 3428
