HIGHLY INLAID PERCUSSION KENTUCKY PISTOL MARKED JAMES BOWN & SON.NSN. Cal. .45. 10-1/2″ oct to rnd rifled bbl with engraved bbl tang. Curly maple stock with 14 silver inlays and an oval silver wrist inlay engraved “RB”. Engraved brass buttcap, trigger guard, rear ramrod pipe, and nose cap. James Bown is listed as a gunsmith in Pittsburgh from 1848 – 1887 and marked his guns James Bown & Son after 1847. CONDITION: The pistol is in very good shape, the name on the lock is worn to the point that it is hard to read and there are only remnants of the signature on the top flat of the bbl.
