UNIQUE ANTEBELLUM AMERICAN MADE DOUBLE BARREL BRASS FRAMED PISTOL WITH BRITISH 2-BARREL PERCUSSION PISTOL.1) F.A.S. PERC 2BBL KY PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 32. This unique pistol measures 8-1/2″ overall with solid cast brass frame with integral bbls, iron trigger guard and backstrap both engraved with animals and signed what appears to read “C.G.GUSTASSON”. A set of initials are also engraved on top of bbls “FAS”. CONDITION: Very good overall. Brass has light mustard patina with discernible engraving with numerous small cosmetic blemishes expected after 150 years. Burl stock has contemporary brass repair made to left side with same patina as rest of gun. Iron is cleaned with staining and pitting but engraved patterns are mostly discernible. Mechanically fine with clear smooth bores. 2) BRITISH PERC 2 BBL PISTOL. NSN. Cal. about 40. Bbls 4-1/2″ rnd with smooth bores, and bead front sight. Iron boxlock action with center mounted hammers. Iron trigger guard has an engraved 8-pointed star. Unique burlwood tree stump style grip has added red and black stain finish. CONDITION: Bbl and action finish has faded to light brown patina. Hammers have a dark gray appearance. Back strap has added black finish, grip is cracked on right side. Mechanics are functional. Pitted bores. 52594-20, 52594-21 (1,200-1,500) – Lot 3281
