AMERICAN SAW HANDLED PERCUSSION PISTOL ATTRIBUTED TO THE GEORGIA SCHOOL.

NSN. Cal. 45. 10″ full oct unmarked rifled bbl. The stock is wedge bound to the bbl and has seven silver inlays. The inlay opposite the lock depicts two engraved birds. The percussion lock is marked “E.B. WEED WARRANTED”. A similar pistol marked “E.B. WEED WARRANTED” is pictured in an article entitled “The Panelled Buttplate School of Southern Kentuckies” by James A. (Arnie) Dowd II published by The American Society of Arms Collectors. That pictured pistol is in the University of Texas Memorial Museum collection in Austin, Texas. CONDITION: Fine condition with all orig parts. Hammer screw is a replacement.
