*GROUP OF FOUR WWI COLT 1911 CAL. 45 COMMEMORATIVE AUTOMATIC PISTOLS IN DISPLAY BOXES MADE IN 1967.1) COLT 1911. SN 1984 CT. Cal. 45. 5″ bbl. Typical commemorative slide marking right side. Left shows battlefield engraving. Stock escutcheon plate shows Chateau-Thierry. Bbl marked “COLT.45AUTO” over verified proof through ejection port. Slide shows circled Rampant Colt on left rear. Frame right shows SN above trigger. Left stock shows Army insignia escutcheon over embossment plate. Right stock shows The Great War escutcheon. Magazine with welded base and “COLT45AUTO” on base plate. Stocks are dbl diamond walnut. Box is painted brown with sliding top and removable plexiglass front. Pistol held in place by three brass brackets and a piece of foam tape behind stock. Foam tape has deteriorated and left residue on the stock. Rear of display case shows map of Chateau-Thierry. CONDITION: Extremely fine condition. Pistol appears to be unfired. Pistol is covered with heavy grease, so it was not disassembled. Finish appears to be 100% factory new with no sign of deterioration anywhere. Right stock shows foam rubber from mounting bracket tape deterioration on checkering which appears to be removable.
