*WINCHESTER 97 U.S. MARKED TRENCH PUMP SHOT GUN AND BAYONET.SN E939463. Cal 12 ga with 2-3/4″ chamber. WWII era trench gun manufactured in 1942. 22-1/4″ cyl bored bbl with bayonet lug and 6-row handguard. Take down action with blue finish. Grooved walnut pump handle and pistol grip stock with replacement Winchester buttplate. Stock & bayonet lug have sling swivels. Left side of receiver is stamped “U.S.”. Receiver and top of bbl have ordinance bomb. Left side of stock has “WP” cartouche over crossed cannons acceptance mark. Bbl has 2-line address marking, both bbl & receiver have “WP” proof marks. Receiver and bbl extension have matching SN’s. Accompanied by Winchester marked 1917 bayonet having 17″ blade and walnut handles. Right side of blade has eagle over J-25 followed by ordinance bomb followed by “X” over U.S. marking. Left side of blade is marked 1917 over “W” in circle. Leather scabbard is green finished and marked “GF”. CONDITION: Very good condition. Bbl, magazine tube, and action have over 80% orig blue showing scratches and scattered spots of pitting. Bayonet lug and hand guard have very good re-blued finish. Forearm and stock have worn finish showing some heavy dents, scrapes and marks. Mechanics are fine. Bore is nice and bright. Bayonet blade has gray Parkerized finish showing minor dings. Scabbard shows scuffs and chipping finish on metal parts. 52504-1 DS (2,500-3,500) C&R – Lot 2221
