*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 RIFLE WITH HALF-OCTAGON BARREL, LYMAN SIGHTS AND FACTORY LETTER.

SN 262086. Cal. 32 W.S. 26″ half-rnd/half-oct bbl, Lyman bead front sight, 2-leaf Lyman rear sight and Lyman tang sight. Full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter confirming all features including Lyman sights and showing shipment on August 26, 1905 to Order Number 20029. PROVENANCE: The collection of Tim Zissler. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 80-90% of the bright blue finish that is drifting somewhat to a plum/brown patina with a few stains and slight mars. Bbl markings are sharp. Sights are fine. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Receiver retains 80-90% bright blue finish. There is some wear at the carry point and some staining along the top of the left side. Right side has a couple of small dents at the top. Bolt shows 90% blue, loading gate shows considerable fire blue. Hammer and lever retain a generous amount of case color that is drifting to silver on the lever loop and is vivid in protected areas. Lyman tang sight is fine with most of the orig blue present. All markings are sharp. Tang sight was not removed. Stocks are fine, full sized and retain most of their orig finish with dents and bruises commensurate with the age of the rifle. Buttplate retains traces of case color with some staining at the heal and toe. Forend cap retains 90% of bright blue. Mechanics are crisp.
