SN 59605. Cal. 44 WCF. 24″ oct bbl, half magazine, blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address in front of rear sight. Standard sporting front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight. Receiver is of the 2nd Model type with dust cover rail attached with a screw. Upper tang is marked “MODEL 1873” without finials. Lower tang shows SN behind lower latch. PROVENANCE: The collection of Tim Zissler. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl shows 80% of the blue finish that is drifting to a plum-brown patina and shows some high point wear, scratches, and a few stains. Bbl address is sharp, sights are very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver shows 50-60% of blue finish that is drifting to a plum-brown patina overall with striation marks showing through the blue. All markings are sharp. Dust cover has been cleaned and is a smooth grey-brown patina. Hammer and lever are a grey-brown patina with traces of case color in protected areas. Stocks are very good, full sized, and have only miniscule handling marks overall. The forend has a small crack on the forward right side. Buttplate is a grey-brown patina with some erosion on heel and toe. Forend cap shows 20% blue with the balance being a grey-brown patina. Mechanics are crisp.
