“AS FOUND” CIVIL WAR SPENCER CARBINE.

SN 43154. Cal. 52. This is a very nice example of one of the most popular Civil War used arms. This gun has an overall fine dark uncleaned patina with solid stocks with discernible cartouche and obvious saddle wear. Standard configuration 22″ bbl, marked on receiver flat “SPENCER REPEATING / RIFLE CO. BOSTON MASS / PAT’D MARCH 6 1860”. PROVENANCE: The Confederate and Civil War estate collection of Fred Donaldson. CONDITION: Very good overall, complete and matching. Metal is overall brown/plum with scattered staining and pitting. Case colors still found in protected areas. Stocks are sound and well fit with two hairlines, discernible cartouche in profile only.
