COLT BABY DRAGOON WITH AFFIDAVIT STATING IT BELONGED TO WILLIAM THOMPSON, 6TH TENNESSEE, CSA.SN 6061. Cal. 31. Initials “WNT” are finely engraved on bottom of gripstrap. Gun is accompanied by several letters of provenance stating this Baby Dragoon from an 81 year old woman, remembered her grandfather who talked to her about “fighting in the war”. Gun is well used, but presents well. PROVENANCE: The Confederate and Civil War estate collection of Fred Donaldson. CONDITION: Good to very good. Matching SNs are found on bbl, cylinder, arbor, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Cylinder is fairly beat, but some rolled scene is still visible. Wedge and wedge screw are replaced. Otherwise gun appears orig with discernible 2-line address, retaining most of its silver plate on backstrap and traces on trigger guard.
