*SCARCE L.C. SMITH SPECIALTY GRADE 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.SN 31452. Cal. 20 ga. 26″ steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Chokes mod/full. Full length matted top rib with ivory front bead. Dbl triggers, extractor, automatic safety. Capped pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with 13-3/8″ LOP over replacement HRBP. Splinter forearm with banjo roll-type release and ebony triangular tip, checkered in 3-point pattern. Receiver is engraved in typical Specialty Grade pattern and marked “L.C. Smith” on sides. WEIGHT: 5 lbs, 8 oz. PROVENANCE: Letter from the L.C. Smith Collector Association indicating that this gun was shipped on September 13, 1920 to Bacharach Rasin Company in Baltimore. CONDITION: Good as refurbished. Bbls retain essentially all of a custom re-blacked finish. Buttstock and forearm have been refurbished, edges rounded and checkering re-cut. Receiver has been highly polished to bright. Trigger guard has been re-blued. Mechanics are functional. Bores are very good with scattered light pitting.
