*SCARCE LATE L.C. SMITH PREMIER SKEET GRADE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN.SN FWS54989. Cal. 12 ga. 28″ London steel bbls. Chambers marked for 2-3/4″. Full length matted raised top rib with twin ivory beads. Frame marked “FWS” & SN. Sgl selective trigger, automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Gorgeous flame grained American walnut straight grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with 13-7/8″ LOP to checkered butt from rear position sgl trigger. Large beavertail forearm with roll-type release checkered in 3-point pattern. Receiver is lightly floral engraved with play target on right, quail on right, and stamped “L.C. Smith” on sides. All visible SN’s match. Bore diameter: left -.729, right – .729. Bore restrictions: left – .006 (IC), right – .0 (CYL). Wall thickness: left – .045, right – .044 . Drop at heel: 2-7/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/16″. Weight: 7 lbs. 16 oz. LOP: 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-97% orig blue with light handling marks. Buttstock and forend are excellent and retain over 90% of their orig finish. Buttstock in need of attention with minor losses at bottom of frame, behind lock plates, behind top tang, and a crack running from right of top tang to back of right lock plate. There is a minor grain separation on left side of forearm at frame and another near forearm release. Receiver retains about half of its mousy gray orig case color and trigger guard retains approximately 60% of its high polish finish. Mechanics are crisp. Bores are bright and shiny.
