ANTIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 50 CALIBER EXPRESS RIFLE.

SN 73170. Cal. 50EX. 26″ rnd bbl, half-magazine, blue and case colored finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address rolled in front of rear sight. Cal. mark at breech. Fine blade front sight, ladder rear sight. Upper tang is marked “MODEL 1886” bordered by dashes. SN is stamped on lower tang behind lever. Patent numbers are also stamped under lever. CONDITION: Fair to good. Bbl is a mottled silver/grey patina with some moderate pitting, especially at the muzzle and breech. Address is sharp. Cal. mark is legible. Sights are good. Bore is dark with traces of rifling. Receiver is deep grey/brown patina overall with moderate pitting. There are slight hints of case color present. Hammer and lever are dark blue/brown patina. Tang markings are legible. Stocks are good, slightly undersized and show numerous handling marks overall. Forend is bruised on the left side and is missing a chip near the forend cap. Buttplate and forend cap are a dark blue/brown patina with some roughness. Mechanics are functional.
